Places to go in the UK this February Half Term.
Are you staying in the UK this half-term holiday and looking for places to go? There are so many family fun places to go so here's some ideas on where to go with the little ones:
Frome, Somerset
Tucked away in Somerset, 20 miles from Bath and Glastonbury respectively, Frome is a gorgeous market town that makes a perfect base for a staycation. Cobbled Catherine Hill is home to so many independent shops and restaurants for everyone to enjoy. Around a 40 minute drive will also take you to the breath-taking Cheddar Gorge for an unforgettable day out!
Isle of Skye, Scotland
Scotland is the ultimate getaway to truly feel like you're getting away from it all, with stunning rolling landscapes and endless space. From wandering round the picture perfect town of Portree to whale watching boat tours, there's something for everyone in rural Scotland. For hiking and bouldering fans it's also the perfect destination!
Margate, Kent
With easy access from London, Margate has become popular in recent years for shopping, food and entertainment set against the backdrop of a vintage seaside. If you are in the area for a few days, you could also easily pop to Broadstairs just along the coast, and enjoy beautiful views and seafood.
Holkham, Norfolk
For unspoiled landscapes and beautiful beaches, Holkham in North Norfolk is among one of the best beaches in the UK. Enjoy stunning beaches, exploring in Waxham or the picturesque Wells-Next-The-Sea along the coastline.
Tynemouth, Tyne and Wear
Historic Tynemouth, just a short drive from outside of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, is a beautiful coastal staycation idea. From the medieval ruins of The Priory and the beautiful Tynemouth lighthouse, this is perfect for little ones who love history!
Portmeirion, North Wales
North of Snowdonia in Wales, Portmeirion describes itself of a taste of Italy in North Wales. With colourful buildings set in luscious greenery, there's plenty to see in this little hidden gem. Nearby is the beach of Harlech, where you can enjoy views of Snowdonia from the beach! There is also Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways for fans of vintage steam engines in a beautiful Welsh setting.
Aldeburgh, Suffolk
Featuring a quaint high street of independent shops and restaurants right on the beach front, it's a perfect peaceful getaway. You can also travel about half an hour along the coast and pop in on the gorgeous coastal town of Southwold and the village of Walberswick.
